Suppression of PHGDH in cell lines with elevated PHGDH expression
Four hospitals sent a total of 7 AT - 2 from Radiology Information System (RIS), 2 from Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), 3 from Patient Records. Three of the AT were understandable and three of the AT were complete. The AT from the patient records are better structured and more complete than the RIS/PACS.CONCLUSIONS: Existing AT do not have enough quality to guarantee traceability or be used in HIS improvement.
The purpose of this study was to determine whether an exercise-induced decrease in ejection fraction in patients with coronary artery disease and left ventricular dysfunction at rest represents ischemia or the nonspecific response of a compromised left ventricle to exercise stress. Accordingly, radionuclide ejection fraction responses of 246 patients with coronary artery disease and an ejection fraction at rest of less than 0.50 were compared with those of a "nonischemic" control group of 48 patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and a similar degree of ventricular dysfunction. The significance of the ejection fraction response in the group with coronary artery disease was further examined by relating it to the angiographic extent of coronary artery disease, severity of angina, incidence of chest pain and electrocardiographic ST segment depression during exercise and long-term prognosis.
Suppression of PHGDH in cell lines with elevated PHGDH expression, but not in those without, causes a strong decrease in cell proliferation and a reduction in serine synthesis. We find that PHGDH suppression does not affect intracellular serine levels, but causes a drop in the levels of α-ketoglutarate, another output of the pathway and a tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle intermediate. In cells with high PHGDH expression, the serine synthesis pathway contributes approximately 50% of the total anaplerotic flux of glutamine into the TCA cycle.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of coffee on solid phase gastric emptying in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia (NUD). Twenty-one NUD patients with an endoscopic negative finding or superficial gastritis were included in this study. Radionuclide labeled solid meals were used to assess the gastric emptying times (GET) of the stomach.
[Nature. 2007]Regenerative biology: new hair from healing wounds.Chuong CM. Nature. We propose that excessive phosphorylation of glycogen leads to aberrant branching and Lafora body formation. This study provides a molecular link between an observed biochemical property of laforin and the phenotype of a mouse model of Lafora disease. The results also have important implications for glycogen metabolism generally..
